SOUND RIOT RECORDS Launches New Web Site

August 13, 2005

Portuguese record label Sound Riot Records has launched a new official web site at this location. A posting on the site reads as follows:

"Sound Riot Records was founded in March 1994. The small company started as a mailorder service in the Brazil distributing demo-tapes and 7" EPs of bands such as: MOONSPELL, ROTTING CHRIST, BEHEMOTH, IN THE WOODS, and MARDUK. In the same year, the distribution of CD started with the first releases of Napalm Records. After that, Sound Riot became the official distributor for labels such as: Misanthropy, Holy, Displeased, No Fashion, Malicious, Witchhunt, Cold Meat Industry, Avantgarde Music, Unisound, and among others.

"The idea to running a label came in 1995 and our debut release in CD format came to out in March 1996. This release showed our capacity to sign a good band as well as run a label. But due to a serious economical crisis in Brazil, the things got no very activity in the company during 1997 and 1998.

"In March 1999, we decided move the company to Europe. In despite of the high expenses and long way of our family, we felt that would be the best choice to our professional development. Our private life as well as the work in the label was extremely hard from 1999 to 2001 but the things started to change to us in 2002, principally after the release of the REQUIEM album that got an excellent feedback in many places. During 2002, important people in the music business started to notice our progress and hopefully, some of them decided start to work with us. This have helped us a lot, hopefully this also helps you to find our releases easiest.

"In 2003, we made some changes in the label that led us to very good things yet bad things happened after some time. That gave us very experience and another vision of our work, maybe a maturity age for the label. For this reason, the most important and serious changes were done middle of 2004. We can say the label was restructured totally into a new level and direction in many ways but the main point was have kept only the stronger bands in the label. Actually our plans are more ambitious, however, our point of view to sign with a band is still the same. Be sure that we will be revealing more promising newcomers for many and many years."
